چکیده

The purpose of this study was to introduce a new maximal step test (NMST) with adjusted step height based on the knee joint angle of 90°. Thirty female students of physical education With (Mean ± SD, ages: 23.6±2.11 yr, height: 164.63±7.14cm, weight: 60.97±4.01 kg, body fat percent: 23.6±2.11) participated in the study and performed both NMST and a maximal graded excise test (GXT) to measure maximal oxygen consumption (VO ). There were significant correlations between VO , Peak Heart Rate (PHR) and 2max 2max respiratory quotient in both tests (P 0.01). NMST as a maximal step test does not require many resources and is also not very expensive. In addition, modification of the step height based on the knee angle of 90° in NMST reduces muscle fatigue or pain and also may lessen the inter individual variability in oxygen cost during the task. Therefore, NMST is recommended as a valid and a simple test to evaluate VO with high accuracy. 2max Abbreviated: New Maximal Step Test with Adjusted Step Height Based on the Knee Joint Angle of 90°

Effect of six weeks yoga training on weight loss following step test, respiratory pressures, handgrip strength and handgrip endurance in young healthy subjects.

The present study was designed to test whether yoga training of six weeks duration modulates sweating response to dynamic exercise and improves respiratory pressures, handgrip strength and handgrip endurance. Out of 46 healthy subjects (30 males and 16 females, aged 17-20 yr), 23 motivated subjects (15 male and 8 female) were given yoga training and the remaining 23 subjects served as controls....

A NEW TWO STEP CLASS OF METHODS WITH MEMORY FOR SOLVING NONLINEAR EQUATIONS WITH HIGH EFFICIENCY INDEX

It is attempted to extend a two-step without memory method to it's with memory. Then, a new two-step derivative free class of without memory methods, requiring three function evaluations per step, is suggested by using a convenient weight function for solving nonlinear equations. Eventually, we obtain a new class of methods by employing a self-accelerating parameter calculated in each iterative...

A simple and reliable step-test for indirect evaluation of aerobic capacity.

Substantial data confirm the benefits of physical activity, but it is necessary to prescribe exercise correctly in regard to aerobic capacity of each patient. When undertaking investigation of a great number of people, it is necessary to apply a simple, fast, reliable and inexpensive test. The aim of this study was to evaluate the validity of a new step-test in physically active subjects. Thirt...

Assessing Language Learners’ Knowledge of Speech Acts: A Test Validation Study

Veryfew attempts have been made in the past to develop instruments to measure pragmatic knowledge of second language (L2) learners. The absence of such instruments in the literature of English language teaching (ELT) underscores the need for the researchers to develop new tests that are specifically designed to assess this crucial but less explored aspect of language learners’ (LLs) knowledge. ...

Design and Analysis of Step Stress Accelerated Life Tests for Censored Data}

Life testing often is consuming a very long time for testing. Therefore, the engineers and statisticians are looking for some approaches to reduce the running time. There is a recommended method for reducing the time of failure, such that the stress level of the test units will increase, and then they will fail earlier than normal operating conditions. These approaches are called accelerated li...
